Hello everyone…I tell you, it just keeps getting better. All of you members and friends out there who plan on taking a tour with us should be glad we’re working out the kinks on this one.
Let me tell you HOW DONNA GOT HER GROOVE BACK today. We headed out this morning from our hotel, through the heavy traffic and got almost to the entrance of the Trace when something started “pinging” on my front tire….BIG pinging…so we stopped at nearby “gym” and the guy told us there was a bike store about 3 miles back the way we came. Donna kept trying to convince me that it would be fine (because she didn’t want to ride all the way back), but knowing that we wouldn’t be near another shop, we finally agreed to go.
We get to the shop and my disc on my brake is the problem…sweet Daniel at Indian Bikes and Fitness (awesome bike shop), got me rolling again. And just as we are headed out the door I asked him to check Donna’s back tire because I noticed it seemed to be really low.
Now, keep in mind that each tire should have about 80 lbs of air pressure in it…so Daniel puts on the gage and guess what???? Both of Donna’s tires had 20 lbs of pressure in them….all of the guys in the shop were freaking out asking how long we’d been riding like that, etc…when we told them, they said Donna had been working about 3 times as hard as she needed to work. Mine were low too (60 psi) but no where near as low as Donna’s – no wonder she has been feeling like every mile is ten.
So, what does that mean for me? Now that Donna got her groove back, she wants to keep going for another week. She rode like the wind today, panniers and all.

Hey girls! Love the blog! You guys are a couple of rock stars on those bikes. I am sending you lots of love and best wishes for a successful ride home. It sounds like a true adventure. Be safe and enjoy every minute! xoxo
Hey there Girlz,
You are almost home and what a trip it has been. Donna, I will see you Friday morning at 5:00a.m. sharp. Please have all of your gear together. I won’t have much time to wait. Lisa, you can ride back with us if you want.
You two have done a great job so far. Keep it up and you will be back it no time. You make me proud. Take care and continue to be safe. Check the air in the tires before you strike out tomorrow morning. Love you guys! See you soon…Jenn

D & L

Hey Jordan (J.J., Baby Girl)
Thanks for writing. We’re on our way back to Memphis. Did your Mom finish painting your room yet???
Miss you and love you-
Donna and LiLi
Lucia,
Thanks for the post…we are starting to feel good on the bikes now, despite our “saddlesoars” and just when that happens, it’s time to go home.
Hope all is well in Memphis. I will see you next week. Love you tons.
Lisa
Deanna,
I hope that you’ve been keeping the politicos in line during our absence. Looks like old McCain is slipping a little (both in the polls and in the head). Did you hear he might cancel the debate….chicken!!!!!
Did you see Katie Couric’s Palin interview??? When she asked her about some of McCains many changes and Palin replied “I’ll go back and memorize a few and get back to YA!
Whatever….see you soon.
L & D
Leave it to Donna to work harder than she needs too! Sounds like the trip has been an amazing time and Manus is very proud of you he sends along his favorite Irish toast for the next picnic break…
“may you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road DOWNHILL all the way to your door”!!
Elyse
Hey!
You guys are our new superheroes! The kids have decided to be “Donu” and “Leesu” for Halloween this year. Superman and Batman are so yesterday! Wait until I tell them that not only did you ride all the way through Mississippi (or as Brynn calls it- New York City), but you did it with flat tires! A hundred dollars says Cole has his bike tires popped before he can even put down his backpack this afternoon.
I hope today’s ride is your best yet! Be safe and have fun! We love you!

Oh- I know that you are a little behind on the news and I don’t think that you should have to wait to hear this. It is going to blow your minds. I hope you are sitting down. Get this- Clay Aiken is gay. Yeah, you read it correctly…G-A-Y! It was breaking news on our local southern Indiana channels. Our churches have been flooded with middle-aged-”mom”jeans-wearing-Vera-Bradley-toting-five-year-old-still-a-suckin’ women lighting candles and praying for his salvation. Perhaps while you are riding today, you could say a little prayer for my neighbors who can’t help but wonder if (God forbid) this means his six-week-old son is also (listen closely because I have to whisper…) gay.
Hey D & L
Hope all is well. Everything is running smoothly here. We have signed Five new members since you left…GO TEAM!
Have a safe trip back.
Girlies your DONE!!
(i think..yall should be there by now, but if not its still soon!!)

I hope yalls last sixty miles or so was GREAT!

Hi bike stars – I’m so impressed that you did this. I mean really really, esp. since i really didn’t move out the couch much. I hope you had a great time – at least you’ll have great stories to tell about each other and lots of license to eat chocolate. love you – melanie
Hey Mel,
Thanks for being our first respondent on our blog and one of our most recent.
We made it – we rode 71 miles today, and I ain’t forgetting that last mile.
Read the post above – it explains what kind of day we had.
much love-
Donna and Lisa
You girls just had to end this thing with a bang, literally. Anyhoot, glad you made it through, though I knew you would. It will be good to see the both of you, road rash and all.
See Donna, I kept my promise and aggravated you everyday while you were on this grand trip. Told ya!
Jenn
Things we all miss about Donna and Lisa at the gym:
Donna having everything lick the floor spanking clean by 7:30 a.m.
her good strong pot of coffee that keeps Betty Radford awake, Lisa yelling”come on ya’ll” in a spin class, Donna reminding the personal trainers to please keep the weight area picked up-again! Lisa making sure I park correctly(hopeless), Donna collecting no shows- yes you all know we miss her keeping us honest- Lisa and her bike ride to and from the gym which will now seem like a blink to her. Hurry home girlies. It’s not the same without you. Thanks to David for keeping things running perfectly- and all the rest of of our great staff. I will leave Friday with Christi and the 2 yorkies, and the bike rack and clean clothes, a Coca Cola for Lisa and a Starbucks mocha for Donna. See you soon. Nat
You’re the BEST, Nate…we’ve missed you terribly…
and we’ve missed Christi and Kiersten and Matthew and David and Carol and Kelly and Angela and Dani and Elyse and Leslie and Katherine and Jessica and Marda and Rinnie and JOHN DOYLE (who has not written to us one single time on our blog) and Sophie and Scout and Louie’ and Mullie and all of our teachers and members and the whole darned place.
We can’t wait to take you guys out ON THE ROAD with us.
